  • In 2023, more than 400 tests were performed, evenly divided by gender, involving approximately 300 athletes, and less than 1% of the test results were positive

The FIVB proudly stands alongside the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and global sports community in celebrating Play True Day 2024, reaffirming its dedication to protecting clean sport and clean athletes.

Since its inception in 2014, Play True Day has served as an annual reminder to athletes and the wider sports community of the importance of clean sport. Now in its tenth edition, the FIVB remains steadfast in its efforts to ensure that volleyball and beach volleyball are played on a level playing field.

At the beginning of 2023 until the conclusion of 2025, the FIVB has delegated its global anti-doping testing programme to the International Testing Agency (ITA), while retaining results management of any potential anti-doping rule violations. This close partnership has proven highly effective in ensuring the integrity of the sport. In 2023, more than 400 tests were performed, evenly divided by gender, involving approximately 300 athletes, and less than 1% of the test results were positive.

In alignment with its commitment to education and awareness, the FIVB again invited stakeholders to participate in this year’s International Federation (IF) Webinar Series and has been promoting different webinars to its stakeholders in partnership with the ITA throughout the year.

Through steadfast dedication and collaborative efforts, the FIVB continues to uphold the principles of clean sport, ensuring an environment where athletes can compete with integrity and confidence.
