Michelle Bartsch-Hackley: The inaugural VNL MVP

Michelle Bartsch-Hackley will hope to make her third straight FIVB Volleyball Nations League appearance in Rimini this May, looking for another phenomenal performance after her MVP-winning run in the inaugural edition of the competition.

The outside hitter led all United States scorers with a total of 270 points off 234 kills, 18 blocks and 18 aces in 2018. She scored 18 points in the final, when USA bounced back twice from a set down to beat Turkey in five sets. She returned in 2019 and won two medals - another VNL gold and a silver at the FIVB Volleyball World Cup, to add to her 2017 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup bronze.

She has played club volleyball in Puerto Rico, Germany, Italy and China, and was in Turkey this season helping VakifBank Istanbul as one of the team’s leading scorers. VakifBank claimed victory in the Turkish League last week and will participate in the final of the CEV Champions League on May 1.
