The state-of-the-art Stade Pierre-Mauroy – home to French Ligue 1 football team Lille OSC – opened in 2012. Located in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, the multi-purpose stadium features a retractable roof and has hosted a number of elite sporting events, including rugby, basketball, handball and tennis.
