The fifth place in the final SuperLega Credem Banca standings and the last ticket to next season’s European club competitions went to Allianz Milan. In front of over three thousand fans on the stands, rising star Ferre Reggers and living legend Matey Kaziyski powered the team to a four-set win at Valsa Group Modena in Saturday’s final of the fifth-place playoffs.

Reggers was the most prolific player of the match as Allianz produced a 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-19) victory over Modena and claimed Italy’s spot in the 2025-2026 CEV Challenge Cup tournament. The Belgian opposite raised five of the team’s 11 kill blocks, the only scoring element, at which the visitors did better than their hosts in this match. Reggers added an ace and spiked at a 52% success rate to finish with a match-high 17 points and earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. 40-year-old Bulgarian outside hitter Kaziyski was swinging at a 56% success rate and contributed 12 points, including one ace and one block.

Modena’s 18-year-old middle blocker Pardo Mati impressed with five aces for the home team and piled up a total of 13 points. Another three of his teammates reached the double digits – Austrian opposite Paul Buchegger with 15 points, Belarusian outside Uladzislau Davyskiba with 11 and Cuban outside Jose Gutierrez with 10. It was Modena’s abundant unforced errors that made the big difference in the match – 43 against only 25 on the victors’ side. Even Allianz’s match winning point came on a Modena mistake.

“Today we did well in leaving everything behind,” Allianz’s setter Paolo Porro said after the game. “We knew it was the last match of this group and it went well. I'm happy to have played in a great team; great in its highs and lows... I am so thankful to the club and I'm also very excited. I spent four years in Milan and I received so much. Allianz will remain an important part of my career - four championships and wonderful people that I hope to see again. I thank everyone from the president to the staff! I'm really happy for this last achievement.”
