Campinas will enter the last round of pool play needing a victory against Al-Rayyan to qualify

Hosts Vôlei Renata Campinas won the fourth and last match of the second day of action in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship in Belém on Wednesday and set up what should be an exciting Decision Day for Pool A in Brazil on Thursday.

The Brazilian Superliga leaders, who had started their Pool A campaign with a defeat to Poland's Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie on Tuesday, earned their first victory at the Mangueirinho Arena on Wednesday, overcoming rivals Praia Clube 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 22-25, 25-23), and kept the race for the two spots in the semifinals wide open.

The only undefeated team in the pool, Warta Zawiercie are at the top of the standings with five points, but the two Brazilian teams are not far behind, with Campinas appearing in second place with four and Praia coming next in third with three. The fourth team in the pool, Qatar's Al-Rayyan Sports Club have no points and no chances of qualifying.

The two semifinal spots will be awarded on Wednesday, when pool play comes to an end in Belém. Warta Zawiercie and Praia play first, at 17:00 (20:00 UTC), while Campinas will try to confirm their progress against the eliminated Al-Rayyan at 20:30 (23:30 UTC).

Campinas' top scorer in the opening match against the Polish, Brazilian national team outside hitter Adriano Xavier again carried their offense in the Brazilian Derby, producing a match-high 21 points, all in kills. Judson Nunes and Newton 'Acerola' Fernandes scored 13 points each, with the Brazilian national team middle blocker registering 11 kills, one block and one ace, and the backup opposite tallying 11 kills and two blocks in a starting role.

Praia had three players with similar production in the match - outside hitters Lucas Lóh and Paulo Vinicios Silva led the team with 15 points each, while veteran opposite Franco Paese added 14.

Before the definition of Pool A, Wednesday's match schedule in Belém will have the last two Pool B matches, which will have Brazil's Sada Cruzeiro playing Italy's Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia at 10:00 (13:00 UTC) and Japan's Osaka Blueton meeting Libya's Swehly Sports Club at 13:30 (16:30 UTC).
