The new South American champions, Campinas will compete at the Club World Championship for just the third time in history, after finishing sixth in 2022 and fourth in 2025.
For Cruzeiro, who had won the last nine editions of the South American Championship, qualifying means the team is set to make its 14th-straight appearance in the event - they have been in every edition since 2012. Cruzeiro are the record holders for gold medals with five (2013, 2015, 2016, 2021, 2024) and have four other medals - silver in 2012 and 2019 and bronze in 2017 and 2022. They were sixth last year.
The two finalists took all spots in the tournament's Dream Team, with Campinas star setter and team captain Bruno Rezende earning the MVP award and being joined by teammates Bruno Lima (opposite), Adriano Xavier (outside hitter) and Matheus Pinta (middle blocker) and Sada Cruzeiro's Rodriguinho Leão (outside hitter), Otávio Pinto (middle blocker) and Alexandre Elias (libero) in the ideal lineup.
