Her achievement places her among a rare group of players in women’s volleyball who have scored more than 50 points in a single match. She now shares company with some of the sport’s most prolific scorers, including Azerbaijan’s Polina Rahimova, who once tallied 58, Bulgaria’s Elitsa Vasileva with 57, and USA’s Nicole Fawcett with 55. Bennour’s output also stands as the highest of the tournament, highlighting both her endurance and her ability to take on a leading role for Algeria in her first World Championship outside Africa.

The Algerian captain had already established herself as one of the event’s top performers with high-scoring outings against Egypt, Türkiye and Poland. But her 51-point explosion against Mexico sealed her reputation as one of the most prolific young attackers in international volleyball.
