USA outplayed the Netherlands in all scoring elements, especially in offense, and earned a well-deserved 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-19) victory. Outside hitter Logan Eggleston contributed a match-high 14 points, including a kill block. Opposite Madisen Skinner raised two kill blocks and fired an ace towards a 13-point tally, which also included the match winner. Middle blocker Dana Rettke chipped in with another 12 points, while 21-year-old opposite Elles Dambrink led Netherlands’ scorers with 11 points.

“It’s been great! This group has so much great energy and we are so willing to adapt, adjust and get better,” experienced Dana Rettke told VBTV. “I am just really proud of how they have been able to rise up to this challenge. I know for many of them, this is the first VNL, so it’s been so much fun to play with them and to have that experience with them. In general, I am really proud of the way this group has continued to get better every single day, no matter if it’s a match or a practice. So we are having a lot of fun!”
