The Argentineans began their activities at the CeNARD, the country’s National Center of High-Performance Athletics, in Buenos Aires, on April 14, when the first seven players reported – setters Ezequiel Vázquez and Pablo Urchevich, opposite Pablo Denis, outside hitter Manuel Armoa, middle blockers Joaquín Gallego and Nicolás Zerba and liberos Federico Trucco and Tobías Scarpa.

This week, they were joined by setters Matías Giraudo and Matías Sánchez, opposite Germán Gómez, outside hitters Fausto Díaz and Lucas Conde and middle blocker Gustavo Maciel and Imanol Salazar.

More players will join over the course of the next weeks, after they complete their club commitments, as well as head coach Marcelo Méndez, who’s still involved in the club season with JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel in the Polish Plus Liga.

VNL campaign starts in Canada

The Argentineans still have six weeks to practice before the start of their VNL campaign, which will happen from June 11-15, in Quebec, Canada, where they will play against France, the home team, Bulgaria and Italy.

Later in the year, from September 12-18, Argentina will compete in the World Championship, in the Philippines. They were allocated in the tournament’s Pool C and will have France, Finland and Korea as their first opponents.
