Volleyball World has welcomed Amazon Türkiye as a new sponsor for the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Women’s Preliminary Phase, taking place in Istanbul from 18 to 22 June.
Amazon Türkiye’s involvement marks a significant milestone as the company’s first-ever sports sponsorship in the country. The partnership comes as volleyball cements its status as one of the most investable and sponsorable sports properties worldwide.
The 2024 VNL marked the most successful edition of the competition to date. It witnessed a remarkable 13% growth in attendance from 2023 and a 33% increase from 2022. The total attendance during the pool phases reached an impressive 751,000. On VBTV, live match viewership climbed by 21%, while Türkiye saw home matches in Antalya sell out completely.
Amazon’s entry into the VNL sponsorship ecosystem marks a new chapter for both the company and sport in Türkiye.
"We are excited to mark our first sports sponsorship in Türkiye with the Volleyball Nations League, a premier event that resonates deeply with Turkish sports fans," said Ece Uslu, Marketing Director, Amazon Türkiye. "This partnership aligns with our commitment to supporting local communities and delivering exceptional experiences to customers in Türkiye, while celebrating the country's passion for volleyball.”
Speaking about the landmark agreement, Oliver Clarke, Head of Sponsorship at Volleyball World said:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Amazon Türkiye to the VNL for the very first time. This is a very exciting step in one of volleyball’s most passionate markets. Having a leading brand like Amazon sponsor the VNL is a powerful demonstration of our sports’ growing global appeal and commercial value. Their presence in Istanbul will help us to elevate the fan experience and further expand our reach across Türkiye. We’re proud to have them on board for what promises to be an unforgettable 2025 season!”
