Rana Verona will host Itas Trentino Trento at the Agsm AIM hall on Sunday at 19:00 local time (18:00 UTC) in an attempt to extend their winning streak from the start of the season. Verona lead the current standings on a perfect 9 points and a 3-0 win-loss record, while their next opponents, who started the season with two straight-set wins, but stumbled at Cucine Lube Civitanova in the third leg, stand in fifth place on 6 and 2-1. Last season, Verona and Trentino met twice. Trentino won both games, 3-1 at home and 3-0 away, improving their all-time head-to-head record with Verona to 36-13.
“We'll face one of the best-equipped teams in the league. This is a team built to defend the title. It will be another battle and a test to understand who we are right now and how far we are from the top teams. We have a significant gap to fill, but with work we'll get closer.” Fabio Soli, head coach of Rana Verona
“There are many things we need to review and work on to reach the level we can perform this season.” Marcelo Mendez, head coach of Itas Trentino Trento

Sunday’s competition day will open at 17:00 (16:00) with a bottom-of-the-table clash between Sonepar Padova Padua and Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, the two teams trailing in 11th and 12th place, respectively. Two matches will serve off at 18:00 (17:00) on Sunday. Valsa Group Modena will entertain Sonepar Padova Padua at the Panini hall in an effort to surpass them in the table. Lube take fourth place in the table on 7 and 2-1, while Cisterna stand 10th on 2 and 1-2.
The fourth leg will close with a game between Allianz Milan and Vero Volley Monza at the Allianz Cloud, starting at 19:30 (18:30) on Sunday. The two geographical neighbors are also neighbors in the table. Vero Volley are eighth on 3 and 1-2, and Allianz are ninth on 2 and 1-2.
