After the postponement of the Supercoppa Italiana matches, the program of the Italian men’s volleyball SuperLega Credem Banca has also undergone changes. So, almost the entire sixth leg has been advanced to this coming weekend and will take place ahead of leg five, set to take place the weekend after. The SuperLega will offer a total of five matches on Saturday and Sunday, highlighted by a big game between Cucine Lube Civitanova and Rana Verona.

Last season’s silver medalists and Coppa Italia winners Cucine Lube Civitanova will host current SuperLega leaders Rana Verona in Civitanova Marche on Sunday, November 9, at 18:00 local time (17:00 UTC). Lube, with SuperLega Player of October Aleksandar Nikolov on their squad, are in third place in the current standings on 10 points and a 3-1 win-loss record. Two points above and still undefeated on a 4-0 win-loss record, Verona hold first place.

Both teams can brag about already handing defending champions Itas Trentino Trento their first setbacks of the new season by beating them in the previous two legs, and now will have the opportunity to measure up against one another this weekend. The last time Lube and Verona met was in the Coppa Italia final in January, when they put up a five-set battle. Before that, they traded three-point home victories in the SuperLega regular season. The all-time head-to-head record between the two clubs stands heavily in favor of Lube, 45-10 in wins.

“I am happy with how I started the season and with Cucine Lube Civitanova's impact. The October MVP award makes me proud because it's the result of so much sacrifice and hard work. Such a significant recognition is also owed to my teammates. So, I thank them for their support. This is an extra incentive for me to give my best, just as the thought of facing league leaders Verona on Sunday gives me great energy!” Aleksandar Nikolov, outside hitter of Cucine Lube Civitanova
“Sunday's match is raising the bar even further. I know what it means to play in Civitanova. They lost only two matches there last year and many teams dropped important points. Playing there means playing at the home of a team whose serve is a lethal weapon. It's the best test for our growth. A match like this is welcome because it puts us face to face with our limits.” Fabio Soli, head coach of Rana Verona

The other undefeated team in the league, second-placed Sir Susa Scai Perugia, on 11 and 4-0, will also have a difficult trip away from home this weekend. On Sunday at 20:30 (19:30), they will visit Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza at the BancaSport hall. The home team stands sixth in the table on 5 and 2-2.

In another Sunday fixture, at 18:00 (17:00), Valsa Group Modena will welcome Sonepar Padova Padua at the Panini hall. Modena occupy fourth place on 7 and 2-2, while Padova are running eighth on 5 and 2-2.

The weekend’s other two matches will be played on Saturday. Vero Volley Monza and Cisterna Volley will open the sixth leg at 18:00 (17:00) with their encounter at the Opiquad Arena. The two teams are neighbors in the table, very close to the bottom, in 10th place on 3 and 1-3, and in 11th place on 2 and 1-3.

Saturday’s second game will be between MA Acqua San Bernardo Cuneo and Itas Trentino Trento. The SuperLega rookies will entertain the SuperLega champions at their hall in Cuneo at 20:30 (19:30). The hosts are running ninth on 5 and 1-3, while the mighty visitors occupy fifth place on 6 and 2-2.
