Perugia's seven trophies (2018, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) tie Treviso for the most in the tournament's history. They are now, however, the only team to have ever won four editions in a row since the Supercoppa was first played, in 1997.
Their victory also generated significant accolades for members of the team, as libero Massimo Colaci passed former opposite Alessandro Fei to become the most successful player with nine trophies. Head coach Angelo Lorenzetti became the first coach to win the event six times, surpassing the late Dagnele Bagnoli.
Star setter Simone Giannelli received the tournament's MVP award, repeating what he had done in Perugia's victory in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship less than three months ago.
In the final, the world champion playmaker made the most of his team's offense, which had outside hitters Oleh Plotnytskyi (17 points) and Kamil Semeniuk (13), opposite Wassim Ben Tara (16) and middle blocker Federico Crosato (11) all getting to double digits in scoring.
"It's great to win the Supercoppa, and our team deserves it," said middle blocker Roberto Russo. "We played a great match, and everyone had an important role. We were aware of the difficulties they could bring us, especially with Darlan's serving, and were very focused from the start."
