Italian SuperLega 2023-2024 awardees announced

The Italian league announced its annual awards for the SuperLega Credem Banca 2023-2024 season. The nominations were based on the clubs’ votes or the individual statistics during the regular season. As many as six of the nominations went to players who are about to compete at the highest international level, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – Argentina’s Agustin Loser (two awards), France’s Theo Faure, Italy’s Alessandro Michieletto and Luca Porro, and Japan’s Ran Takahashi.

Pallavolo Padova Padua’s 20-year-old outside hitter Luca Porro was named the Best U23 Player to earn the Gianfranco Badiali prize.

Champions Sir Susa Vim Perugia’s head coach Angelo Lorenzetti was voted Best Coach of the season to receive the Costa-Anderlini award.

The Ilario Toniolo award for the season’s Best Referee in the SuperLega went to Stefano Cesare.

Cisterna Volley’s French international Theo Faure earned the most important performance-based prize, the Andrej Kuznetsov award for the Best Scorer. The opposite put away a total of 420 points during the regular season.

Allianz Milano’s Argentinean international Agustin Loser’s name was placed against two individual Best Blocker awards – for highest average of kill blocks per set (0.79) and for highest total number of kill blocks (68).

Mint Vero Volley Monza’s Japanese star Ran Takahashi claimed the Best Receiver award for the highest efficiency in handling the opponents’ serves.

Itas Trentino Trento’s outside Alessandro Michieletto, was honoured as the Best Spiker of the season to receive the award for highest efficiency in attack.

The Best Server award for the highest efficiency in serving went to Rana Verona’s setter Luca Spirito.

The award for highest number of serving aces went to Cisterna Volley’s Spanish outside Jordi Ramon. He scored a total of 39 direct points during the regular season.

Farmitalia Catania’s Austrian opposite Paul Buchegger was also among the individual awardees as he scored the highest total number of points in attack.
