Tuesday’s competition day, however, will open with a clash within the bottom third of the table, as PlusLiga newcomers InPost ChKS Chelm host Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa at the MOSiR hall for a fifth-leg fixture, serving off at 17:30 local time (16:30 UTC). The rookies trail bottom, in 14th place on 2 points and a 1-4 win-loss record, while their visitors from Czestochowa occupy 11th place on 3 and 1-4.
In Tuesday’s second match, starting at 20:00 (19:00), Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will welcome Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie to the Urania hall for a match of December’s 11th leg, advanced early not to clash with Aluron’s participation in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in Brazil. The squad from Olsztyn is the current table leader on 15 and 5-1. They took over the first place from Aluron after the latter suffered a five-set loss to Jastrzebski Wegiel at home on Saturday and dropped to second place on 15 and 5-2, below Indykpol on set ratios. Last season, Aluron took both encounters with Indykpol in four sets to improve their all-time head-to-head record against the club from Olsztyn to 14-7.
Wednesday’s program will get underway at 17:30 (16:30) with a game between JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin of the fifth leg. Both teams played a major role in the 2024-2025 PlusLiga season. Jastrzebski Wegiel won the regular season, while Lublin persevered through the playoffs to claim their historic first national title. So far this season, however, their results have been below the expectations and they will both be eager to make amends as they face one another in Jastrzebie-Zdroj on Wednesday. BOGDANKA are currently on a three-game losing streak, in sixth place on 10 and 3-3, while their hosts are eighth on 7 and 3-2, with a game in hand. The two teams met some two weeks ago in the Poland Super Cup final, when the Lublin side celebrated a four-set victory and another historic success for the club. The all-time head-to-head between the two clubs, however, stands at 10-4 Jastrzebski Wegiel’s way.
The fifth leg will continue with Wednesday evening’s encounter between Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle at the Podpromie hall, serving off at 20:00 (19:00). Resovia remained the only undefeated team since the start of the PlusLiga season. On 13 points and five wins in five matches, they stand third in the table, below Indykpol and Aluron, who have 15 points each, but from six and seven matches played, respectively. One of Poland’s big powerhouses ZAKSA have been struggling to find their way back to the glory of their recent past. So far this season, they are on a negative 2-3 win-loss record and occupy ninth place on 7 points. The last meetings between Resovia and ZAKSA were in last season’s fifth-place playoff, when the team from Kedzierzyn-Kozle won both matches and edged further ahead, by 47-43, in the all-time head-to-head PlusLiga record between the two clubs.
