Slepsk Malow Suwalki will host ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle on Wednesday at 20:00 local (19:00 UTC). ZAKSA stand right on the edge of the playoff zone in the current standings, in eighth place on 28 points and a 9-10 win-loss record. Slepsk Malow are just two positions below them, in 10th place on 22 and 6-13, and if they manage to take the three points from this home game, they can turn into a serious candidate for a spot in quarterfinals. The previous encounter between the two teams in December, during the first half of the regular season, produced a five-set battle, in which ZAKSA celebrated a tie-breaker victory at home.

PlusLiga action will continue on Friday with another clash that will affect the fight for the playoffs. JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj will entertain PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow at 17:30 (16:30). Last year’s regular season winners are currently in seventh place on 30 and 11-8, while SKRA are running ninth, but with two games in hand, on 27 and 9-8. However, the team from Belchatow arrive on a negative run of six consecutive losses between the PlusLiga and the Poland Cup. In November’s game between them, SKRA achieved a four-set home victory over Jastrzebski Wegiel.

Friday’s late match, on the other hand, is relevant to the race for survival in the PlusLiga. Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski will welcome Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa to the Arena Gorzow at 20:00 (19:00). Cuprum Stilon stand third from the bottom, two positions above the relegation zone, in 12th place on 18 and 5-14. Steam are the current residents of the relegation zone at the bottom of the standings and under the greatest danger of losing their place in the PlusLiga. They are 14th on 12 and 3-15, but with a game in hand. November’s fixture between the two squads resulted in a five-set duel, won by the visitors from Gorzow Wielkopolski.

Another team with concerns about its survival in the league, Ukraine’s Barkom Kazhany Lviv, will have a tough home encounter with the current table leaders, FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship bronze medalists Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. The match in Elblag will serve off at 14:45 (13:45) on Saturday. Despite stringing up three five-set victories over strong opponents in their last three matches, Barkom Kazhany are still second from the bottom, in 13th place on 17 and 6-13. Aluron, on the other hand, are riding the wave of eight consecutive wins between the PlusLiga and the CEV Champions League and top the current standing on 42 and 14-5. They swept November’s home game against the Ukrainian team in straight sets.

A game between Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and InPost ChKS Chelm will follow on the program for Saturday. It will get underway at 17:30 (16:30) at the Podpromie hall in Rsezsow. Resovia stand in fifth place on 34 and 12-7, while the PlusLiga rookies are fourth from the bottom, in 11th place on 20 and 6-13. Their previous match in December went 3-0 the way of the visitors from Rseszow.

The last match on the week’s program will be played on Sunday. Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will entertain PGE Projekt Warsaw at the Urania hall in the highest-profile game of the leg, starting at 14:45 (13:45). The home team is in fourth place on 36 and 13-5, with a game in hand, while last season’s bronze medalists are running second on 40 and 14-5. They engaged in a five-set fight, when they met in the capital in November, with Projekt outlasting their visitors in the tie-breaker.

The last match of the 21st leg, between Energa Trefl Gdansk and BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, is set to be played on March 17.
