The PlusLiga “weekend” will last through Monday evening when last season’s silver medallists visit last season’s bronze medallists, starting at 20:30 (18:30). PGE Projekt Warsaw host national cup and national super cup holders Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the last and probably the most interesting match of the leg.
The two teams are among the top four in the table. Projekt, with the likes of middle blocker Jakub Kochanowski and French outside hitter Kevin Tillie on the roster, are in second place on 12 points from five games played (4-1), and Aluron, featuring outsides Aaron Russell of the United States and Bartosz Kwolek among the stars on their stellar squad, are fourth on 9 points from four matches (3-1).
The two clubs have met 17 times since 2017, with Projekt leading the head-to-head by 10-7 in wins. Last season they clashed five times, with Aluron winning three of those encounters, including the most recent two, in their PlusLiga semifinal playoff series.

Defending champions and table leaders (with a full set of 12 points from four games) Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj will try to stay unbeaten after their visit to Steam Hemarpol Norwid Czestochowa for Saturday’s evening match at 20:30 (18:30). Opposite Lukasz Kaczmarek, outside Tomasz Fornal, middle Norbert Huber, libero Jakub Popiwczak, French Olympic champion setter Benjamin Toniutti and the rest of their high-profile teammates will be chasing their fifth consecutive win since the start of the PlusLiga season, while Iranian star Milad Ebadipour tries to lead the home team to success in only their third match this season. The team from Czestochowa stands in 10th place on 3 and 1-1.
BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, with standouts like outside Wilfredo Leon, Bulgarian middle Aleks Grozdanov, Brazilian libero Thales Hoss or Dutch outside Bennie Tuinstra on the squad, are the other PlusLiga team yet to suffer a defeat this season. Placed third in the standings on 10 and 4-0, they will entertain Asseco Resovia Rzeszow in Saturday’s early game at 14:45 (12:45). Resovia also boast a stellar line-up, including the likes of Karol Klos, Bartosz Bednorz, Slovenia’s Gregor Ropret and Klemen Cebulj or France’s Stephen Boyer, with enough potential to aim much higher than their current ninth place on 4 and 1-2.
In between the above two games, starting at 17:30 (15:30) on Saturday, seventh-placed Trefl Gdansk (6, 1-3) host 12th-placed ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle (3, 1-1).

Sunday’s programme includes two games. Fifth-placed PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow (8, 3-1) welcome sixth-placed Slepsk Malow Suwalki (6, 2-2) at 14:45 (12:45), and 14th-placed Indykpol AZS Olsztyn (0, 0-3) entertain 11th-placed PSG Stal Nysa (3, 1-1).
A bottom-of-the table clash between two winless teams will open Monday’s match programme. The only foreign team in the Polish PlusLiga, Ukraine’s Barkom Kazhany Lviv (0, 0-4), visit GKS Katowice (0, 0-5) at 17:30 (15:30), as one of the two sides celebrate their first victory of the season.
