BOGDANKA LUK Lublin doubled its lead in the best-of-five Polish PlusLiga championship playoff with a merciless sweep of the second match of the series against Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, which it hosted on Saturday at the HSW Globus.

Cuban-born star outside hitter Wilfredo Leon was on fire again as his team hammered out a 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-14) shutout of Aluron. He led the way with a match-high 19 points, spiking at a 57% success rate, firing two aces and raising two kill blocks, thus earning a well-deserved Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. His cross-court teammate Nikolaj Sawicki, who produced an ace for the match winning point, and opposite Kewin Sasak added 10 points each, while Bulgarian middle Aleks Grozdanov was the best blocker of the match with three stuffs to his name.

While none of the Aluron players managed to reach the double digits in the three sets of the game, their American outside Aaron Russell led the scoring with nine points. German star opposite Gyorgy Grozer made his debut for the club from Zawiercie as a substitution in the first set and stayed on as a starter for the next two, but could not help turn the course of the match and finished with eight points.
The third game of the championship playoff, which could be the last, will be hosted by Aluron at Arena Sosnowiec on Wednesday, May 7.
