BOGDANKA LUK Lublin and Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will take to the court in Krakow at 14:45 local time (13:45 UTC).

The reigning national champions and Poland Super Cup laureates will try to add a new trophy to their trending showcase. They arrive in Krakow on an 11-game winning streak between the Poland Cup, the Polish PlusLiga and Europe’s Champions League. To qualify for the Final Four, they put together a 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-17, 25-20) away victory over the second-division team of Stal Nysa in the quarterfinals. It is the third (consecutive) time Lublin reach the semifinals of the Poland Cup, but they are yet to progress to their first final. BOGDANKA are the leaders in the current PlusLiga standings on 32 points and an 11-3 win-loss record.

Olsztyn have won the national cup as many as seven times, but not since 1992. They advanced to this year’s semifinals with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-20) road win over another second-division team, BBTS Bielsko-Biala. The previous time the club from Olsztyn progressed to the Puchar Polski semifinals was back in 2008. Indykpol are running third in the PlusLiga on 29 and 10-4.

In their December PlusLiga encounter, Lublin shut out Olsztyn at home and edged ahead in the all-time head-to-head record between the two clubs, which now stands at 5-4 in wins.

“Olsztyn are definitely a good team and the biggest surprise of the first half of the season. They are playing really well, so the semifinal won't be easy for us. However, I hope we can make it through and advance to the final. The atmosphere at the TAURON Arena is incredible. Honestly, I was surprised last season because I didn't expect such a large crowd and such an atmosphere in the stands. It was a truly amazing feeling!” Aleks Grozdanov, middle blocker of BOGDANKA LUK Lublin
“I've already had the opportunity to play at the TAURON Arena. The spectacle is incredible. We came here to compete and achieve something.” Jan Hadrava, opposite and captain of Indykpol AZS Olsztyn

Saturday’s second semifinal will feature the teams of PGE Projekt Warsaw and Asseco Resovia Rzeszow and will serve off at 18:00 (17:00).

Projekt are in the final four for the third time in a row. Overall, it is their fifth time in the semifinals, but they have never managed to qualify for the trophy match. On the road to this season’s semis, the squad from the Polish capital hammered out a 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) sweep of their home quarterfinal against PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow. Projekt stand second in the PlusLiga on 31 and 11-3.

Resovia won the national cup three times back in the 70s and the 80s of the 20th century. The last time they played in the final was in 2015 and the last time they made the semifinals was in 2023. In the quarterfinals, the team from Rzeszow battled it out for a tight 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 27-25) away win over FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship bronze medalists Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie. Resovia occupy sixth place in the current PlusLiga standings on 26 and 9-5.

The most recent encounter between Projekt and Resovia in national cup competition was in a 2015 quarterfinal, when the Rzeszow team shut out their opponents. When the two met in Warsaw for a PlusLiga fixture in November, Resovia mastered a straight-set upset.

“We have a semifinal curse and we really want to break it. We have a very strong team from Rzeszow against us, but we'll do everything we can to beat them and reach the final. And who will win the cup? I have no idea.” Damian Wojtaszek, libero and captain of PGE Projekt Warsaw
“I'm very excited for this event. I've heard nothing but good things about the TAURON Arena and I'm sure the atmosphere will be fantastic. That alone makes me look forward to Saturday's match. This is my first year playing in Poland and my first chance to win a trophy. So, I'll be taking to the court with a lot of energy.” Danny Demyanenko, middle blocker of Asseco Resovia Rzeszow
