The road win broke the tie between the teams, which both entered the week with 39 points, and made Lublin pass Olsztyn, which dropped to fourth place, getting to 42.

Wilfredo Léon and Hilir Henno led Lublin's strong road performance, as the Polish star outside hitter earned the match's MVP award after scoring 24 points (20 kills, three blocks, one ace) and the French opposite added another 22, with 18 kills, three blocks and one ace.

"We were in control since the beginning, but then Moritz (Karlitzek, Olsztyn's outside hitter) made a difference for them at the end of the third set with four aces," team setter and captain Marcin Komenda reflected. "We understood those were good plays on their side, and the most important thing was that we managed to come back in the fourth set after losing the third somewhat unexpectedly. This was a really important match for us, and the entire team deserves a lot of praise."

Mentioned by Komenda, German national team outside hitter Karlitzek matched Léon's production, scoring 24 points, with 17 kills and an impressive seven aces for Olsztyn, which endured their second upset in the last three matches.

Warsaw win one and lose one at home

Ranked second in the standings, PGE Projekt Warsaw had two home matches in a span of three days, but couldn't fully capitalize on them, getting a win and a loss against lower-ranked opponents to get to 46 points.

They hosted 11th-placed Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski on Monday as part of the 22nd leg and had an uncharacteristic subpar performance, falling 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-19).

They returned to the court on Wednesday and again had a slow start against 14th-placed Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa, but this time managed to react, winning 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-19).
