BOGDANKA LUK Lublin earned their third national title in eight months and completed the Polish men's volleyball treble on Sunday, by triumphing in the TAURON Puchar Polski Polish Cup in Kraków.

The winners of the 2024-2025 PlusLiga and the 2025-2026 Polish Super Cup, Lublin overcame Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in straight sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-20) in the tournament's final at the TAURON Arena to further establish themselves as the team to beat in the country, holding the three trophies simultaneously.

Before winning the Polish Cup this season, Lublin had third-place finishes in 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 as their best results in the tournament. Resovia, on the other hand, were pushing for a fourth title, following victories in 1974-1975, 1982-1983 and 1986-1987.

Polish star outside hitter Wilfredo León was Lublin's most productive player in the final, registering 15 points in their straight-set victory with nine kills, four aces and two blocks. Fellow Polish national team member and opposite Kewin Sasak came next, with 12 points (ten kills, two blocks).

"We definitely didn't expect the match to end as quickly as it did," León said. "We somehow had the match under control from start to finish, and I'm very proud of the team for that. The Polish Cup was a trophy the club didn't have yet, and I'm very happy to have won it. I hope the positive results keep coming for us."

Slovenian national team outside hitter Klemen Čebulj was the only Resovia player to get to double digits in scoring, delivering a 13-point performance with 11 kills and two aces.

"We wanted very much to win, but unfortunately, we weren't ourselves today, and we couldn't present what we did in the semifinals," opposite Karol Butryn reflected. "Things weren't happening for us, we kept trying, but unfortunately, Lublin played very well and absolutely deserved to win. This fluctuation in our game has been happening during the season, and we need to analyze it and understand what's going on."

The tournament's individual awards were entirely dominated by Lublin players, with Sasak earning both the MVP and the best attacker prizes, León standing out as the best receiver, captain Marcin Komenda emerging as the best setter, Brazilian Thales Hoss being considered the best libero and Bulgarian Aleks Grozdanov taking home the award for the best middle blocker.
