In a high-profile match-up on Saturday evening, BOGDANKA LUK Lublin mastered an emphatic 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) home victory over Indykpol AZS Olsztyn and improved to 25 points and an 8-3 win-loss record in second place of the current standings. Indykpol fell two spots down the table, to fifth place on 22 and 7-4. Lublin’s opposite Kewin Sasak was the best scorer of the match with 18 points, including 17 kills in attack at a 65% success rate and a kill block, and claimed the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Last season’s bronze medalists PGE Projekt Warsaw also made it five victories in a row with Saturday’s 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-23) shutout of their hosts Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa, for whom it was the sixth consecutive loss. Projekt climbed two positions up the standings, to fourth place on 22 and 8-2, while Steam remain second from the bottom, in 13th place on 5 and 1-9. The winners’ German opposite Linus Weber contributed 10 points, including two aces, and received the MVP nomination. French outside Kevin Tillie was Projekt’s best scorer with 12 points, including two aces and two kill blocks, while Steam’s Czech opposite Patrik Indra delivered a match-high 22 points.

Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, participants in the upcoming FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship, consolidated in first place after a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-18) sweep of their home game against bottom-placed Slepsk Malow Suwalki on Saturday. Aluron top the table on 27 and 9-4. However, they have already played three games more than most of their PlusLiga rivals. Slepsk Malow are stuck in 14th place on 5 and 1-9, on a slightly lower set ratio than that of Steam. Middle blocker Mateusz Bieniek was on fire for Aluron and emerged as the best scorer of the match with nine spike kills at a 64% success rate, three aces and four kill blocks towards a match-high 16 points, earning the MVP honors.

PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow climbed to third place on 24 and 8-2 after beating Barkom Kazhany Lviv in Sunday evening’s closing match of the leg. They achieved a 3-1 (25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 28-26) home victory over the Ukrainian team with a match-high 19 points from French outside Antoine Pothron. He took the MVP award after firing 18 kills in offense at an impressive 82% success rate. Barkom Kazhany kept their 10th place in the table, now on 10 and 3-7.

In another much anticipated clash on Saturday, JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj produced a 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) shutout of their visitors Asseco Resovia Rzeszow. It was not enough to ascend into the playoff zone and 2024-2025 regular season winners Jastrzebski Wegiel remained just below the red line, in ninth place on 15 and 6-4. Resovia, however, lost some ground and descended from fifth to sixth place on 20 and 7-3. The MVP recognition went to Jastrzebski Wegiel’s outside Michal Gierzot, who top-scored 15 points, including two aces and two blocks, towards the convincing sweep.

ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle stayed in seventh place, now on 16 and 5-5, after a 3-1 (27-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19) home win over Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski on Sunday. Cuprum Stilon also stayed put, in 11th place on 7 and 2-9. ZAKSA’s Italian international opposite Kamil Rychlicki led the team with 25 points, including two blocks, and received the MVP award.

In Friday’s leg opener, Energa Trefl Gdansk nailed a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-14) sweep of their road game at InPost ChKS Chelm to stay within the playoff zone, in eighth place on 15 and 6-4, on a slightly better set ratio than Jastrzebski Wegiel. The PlusLiga rookies, on the other hand, are in 12th place on 6 and 2-8. 22-year-old opposite Aliaksei Nasevich powered Trefl with a match-high 18 points, registering an 80% success rate in attack, while Trefl’s German outside Tobias Brand was named match MVP.

The six remaining matches of the 11th leg are coming up next, from Thursday, December 11, to Sunday, December 14.
