Second-placed BOGDANKA LUK Lublin and third-placed Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, on 22 points and a 7-3 win-loss record each in the current standings, and separated on set ratios, will battle it out on Sunday evening at 20:00 local time (19:00 UTC) at the Globus hall in Lublin. The defending champions will try to further extend their winning streak, which has now lasted for four consecutive matches. The visitors from Olsztyn already had a five-game winning streak earlier in the season, but since then they have been alternating home victories with away losses. The two clubs met twice last season and each side won its home game in straight sets. The all-time head-to-head record is also balanced at four wins each.
In Friday evening’s leg opener, InPost ChKS Chelm will host Energa Trefl Gdansk at 20:00 (19:00). Both sides will try to bounce back from losses earlier this week. The PlusLiga rookies are now on a three-game negative series, which pushed them down to second from the bottom, in 12th place on 6 and 2-7. Trefl are just above the edge of the playoff zone, in eighth place on 12 and 5-4.
Saturday’s program will serve off at 12:30 (11:30) with a game between table leaders Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and table trailers Slepsk Malow Suwalki. Preparing for their upcoming appearance at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in Brazil, last season’s silver medalists Aluron will try to recover from two consecutive losses on the road with a home win over a team that is also on a three-game losing streak, but managed to push two of its prominent opponents to tie-breaker resolutions. The squad from Zawercie has already played 12 matches and stands on top of the table on 24 and 8-4, while the guys from Suwalki trail in 14th place on 5 and 1-8.
Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Czestochowa, second from the bottom, in 13th place, also on 5 and 1-8, but with a set won more than Slepsk Malow, will play at home against last season’s bronze medalists PGE Projekt Warsaw, who are currently running in sixth place on 19 and 7-2. The game is on Saturday at 14:45 (13:45).
Also on Saturday, but at 17:30 (16:30), JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj will welcome Asseco Resovia Rzeszow. The 2024-2025 regular season winners from Jastrzebie-Zdroj are surprisingly below the cut-off for the playoffs in the current standings, in ninth place on 12 and 5-4. Meanwhile, Resovia are running in fifth place on 20 and 7-2.
ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle and Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski will open the competition day on Sunday at 14:45 (13:45). ZAKSA, who will entertain their opponents at the Azoty hall just after having to reverse-sweep their home game against bottom-placed Slepsk Malow, occupy seventh place on 13 and 4-5. Cuprum Stilon stand 11th on 7 and 2-8.
PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow and Barkom Kazhany Lviv will close the 10th leg with a game serving off at 20:00 (19:00) on Sunday at the Energia hall. The hosts from Belchatow stand in fourth place on 21 and 7-2, while their Ukrainian visitors are 10th on 10 and 3-6.
