The spotlight falls on Thursday’s clash between two undefeated teams. Table leaders PGE Projekt Warsaw, who have not lost a single set in three matches played, will host Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, who are third in the current standings on 8 points and a 3-0 win-loss record, at the Arena Ursynow. This early fixture of the fourth-leg program is scheduled at 20:30 local (19:30 UTC). Last regular season, Projekt and Resovia met twice and traded home victories. Projekt won the five-set battle in Warsaw, while Resovia took the game in Rzeszow in straight sets.

“I won't say it's a match like any other, because for me it will definitely be special. We're playing against a strong team, a club I spent six years with and won medals with. I have a lot of friends there, so we'll see how it goes. It'll be fun, and I hope it'll be a fun match too. Kudos to them for not losing a set yet. They're playing well; they're a good team that's been starting the league off very well for years. Last season, when I played there, we didn't suffer our first defeat until the 10th leg. So, it's great that we'll be able to test ourselves against such an opponent, but there will also be many other theoretically big matches like this, the kind that fans are looking forward to. So, there's no point in thinking that this match will decide the medals at the end.” Artur Szalpuk, outside hitter of Asseco Resovia Rzeszow

In another early fourth-leg fixture, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn will welcome Energa Trefl Gdansk to the Urania hall on Thursday at 17:30 (16:30). Each of the two teams is on 6 points and a 2-1 win-loss record, but Indykpol are in seventh place, while Trefl are running fourth.

Midweek action will serve off as soon as Tuesday afternoon, with Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski entertaining Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, starting at 17:30 (16:30). This is a game from the 12th-leg program that has been advanced to this week because of Aluron’s participation in December’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in Brazil. Cuprum Stilon occupy 12th place on 1 and 0-3, while their visitors from Zawierce stand sixth on 6 and 2-1.

“We're definitely off to a rough start, but we believe in our team. I think we just need to unlock something in our heads and, once we start winning, it'll definitely be easier for us. Right now, we're a little frustrated. We've already played three matches in just a week, and we have another tough match on Tuesday, so it's really physically exhausting. In a situation like that, there's no point in thinking about the past losses, because you need to focus on the next match as quickly as possible.” Mathis Henno, outside hitter of Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski
