It will be a nice and long “weekend” in the Polish PlusLiga as the 11th leg of the regular season spreads over five consecutive days, from Thursday to Monday, November 7 to 11. It will open with an interesting clash between two neighbours in the current standings, racing to stay away from the relegation zone, but it will also feature high-level battles like those between sensational Steam Hemarpol Norwid Czestochowa and steady BOGDANKA LUK Lublin on Friday, or between mighty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle and defending champions and table leaders Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj on Saturday.

Starting at 20:30 local time (19:30 UTC) on Thursday, Nowak-Mosty MKS Bedzin, standing 13th in the table on 7 points and a 2-7 win-loss record, will host 12th-placed PSG Stal Nysa, who are just one point above them, also on 2-7. The two teams are just above the relegation zone and the next two down the table stand on 2-7 as well, but with 6 and 5 points. So whoever loses this match is under a substantial threat to fall below the red line. The head-to-head record between the two clubs in the PlusLiga stands at 4-2 in favour of Stal, but they have not met in over two and a half years, since May 2022.
Six days after dropping another sensational win over a powerful opponent (3-1 at PGE Projekt Warsaw), trending Steam Hemarpol Norwid Czestochowa will have to show if they are ready for yet another one as second-placed BOGDANKA LUK Lublin visits them on Friday at 17:30 (16:30). Norwid are now in sixth place on 18 and 7-3, while runners-up BOGDANKA stand on 25 and 9-1 with a good shot at returning to the top of the table. The two clubs have met only twice before in the PlusLiga, exchanging away victories last season. Previous encounters in the second division bring the overall head-to-head record to 4-2 Lublin’s way.
Also on Friday, but at 20:30 (19:30), PGE Projekt Warsaw will try to bounce back from their home loss to Norwid as they visit Indykpol AZS Olsztyn. The squad from the capital are running in third place on 23 and 8-2, while Indykpol are looking for a way out of the relegation zone, where they stand in 13th place on 6 and 2-7.
The titanic clash between ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle and Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj is set to open Saturday’s programme at 14:45 (13:45). A nice win over the reigning champs in front of the home crowd could be a good remedy for the occasional misfortunes that ZAKSA have suffered since the start of the season that place them fifth in the table on 20 and 6-4. Meanwhile, Jastrzebski Wegiel have allowed only one misfortune so far and look solid on top of the table on 28 and 9-1. A three or four-set loss in Kedzierzyn-Kozle, however, could bring them down from there. The long-time rivalry between the two powerhouses has produced a head-to-head record of 50-46 Jastrzebski Wegiel’s way in the PlusLiga alone, but they have had plenty of other encounters in other competitions, such as the national cup, the national super cup or even Europe’s Champions League.
Saturday’s competition day will continue with Slepsk Malow Suwalki’s home game against Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie at 17:30 (16:30). Slepsk are in 10th place on 11 and 4-5, while Aluron are fourth on 22 and 7-3. Then, at 20:30 (19:30), ninth-placed PGE GiEK SKRA Belchatow (14, 5-4) will welcome Ukraine’s Barkom Kazhany Lviv, who are second from the bottom, in 15th place on 5 and 2-7.
Trefl Gdansk will entertain Asseco Resovia Rzeszow in Sunday’s match at 14:45 (13:45). The home team is in 11th place on 11 and 3-7, while the visitors are eighth on 15 and 4-6.
The leg will close on Monday with a 20:30 (19:30) game between Cuprum Stilon Gorzow Wielkopolski, seventh on 15 and 6-4 and their visitors GKS Katowice, who trail bottom on 3 and 1-9.
