Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano and Savino Del Bene Scandicci seem to be in great form for their Derby in the sixth leg of the 2024-2025 Lega Volley Femminile Serie A1 Tigotà regular season on Sunday as both teams scored big wins in Italian League midweek matches on Wednesday.

The current Lega Femminile leaders with 18 points (six wins) and the only undefeated team in the country, Conegliano will host the third-placed Scandicci, who have 12 points (four wins, one loss), on Sunday, at 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT), in a rematch of last season’s Italian League Finals.

On Wednesday, Conegliano played on the road against Megabox Ondulati Savio Vallefoglia and had no trouble producing a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-12) victory. Playing just her second match with the team, Chinese superstar Zhu Ting showed she’ll be ready to perform against her former team on Sunday, leading the defending champions with 13 points (eight kills, three blocks, two aces) and taking home the MVP award.

Also getting to double digits in scoring for Conegliano were fellow outside hitter Gabriela ‘Gabi’ Guimarães, who registered 12 (11 kills, one block), and Olympic champion middle blocker Sarah Fahr, who tallied 11 (nine kills, one block, one ace).

“We wanted to come here and play a good match because now our entire squad is available and we need to play strong opponents such as Vallefoglia to get into a rhythm,” setter Joanna Wołosz said. “I think we did a good job and I was particularly happy to see Zhu, who hasn't been with us for a long time, being able to play at this level. We want to play very well against Scandicci in front of our fans on Sunday and this match has helped us prepare to do it.”

Playing at home in Firenze, Scandicci were also dominant, beating Cda Volley Talmassons Fvg 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-13), with Olympic champion opposite Ekaterina Antropova leading the way with 22 points (16 kills, three blocks, three aces).

American outside hitter Lindsey Ruddins and Brazilian middle blocker Ana Carolina ‘Carol’ da Silva scored 11 points each, also playing big roles in the team’s victory.
