Ngapeth taking France to the next level

In the last decade, France outside hitter Earvin Ngapeth has entertained fans around the world with his stunning, creative moves and exceptional skills. Always giving fans more of the spectacle they want to see, he helped take France to the next level at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 where his team won gold.

Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to the France star's most outstanding skills. He is one of the most explosive players in the sport and can drill the ball into the opponent’s side of the court in spectacular fashion. But he also daring in defence. His fearless moves and solid passing just keep the ball flying. In short, he is an exceptionally gifted player in both offence and defence.

The Frenchman has also showcased a high level of athleticism whenever his team have been under pressure. But what makes him so entertaining to watch is that he is also a risk-taker. Regularly delivering points via an array of unbelievable moves, it is these moments that have made him a favourite with fans.

Ngapeth has developed a reputation as a fierce competitor on the court, and France's victory against a determined ROC team on Saturday was a testament to that. Selected as the Olympic tournament's Most Valuable Player, and also as one of it's two best outside hitters, Ngapeth was the second best scorer in Tokyo (136 points) and claimed a total of 124 successful attacks (the highest number in the tournament). He was also his country's top receiver, and second best digger, just behind libero Jenia Grebennikov.

The Frenchman loves the sport of volleyball, and his team's recent success in Tokyo will surely help to grow the sport in his country as it looks ahead to the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
