The world’s best 96 teams (48 per gender), representing all five continental confederations, will gather at the iconic Foro Italico stadium in the Italian capital to battle it out for the titles of 2022 men’s and women’s world champions and for the remaining spots on the prestigious podium.
The 10-day programme of the 13th edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships includes a total of 216 matches, set to deliver memorable emotions to the spectators on the stands and watching online.
Traditional beach volleyball power Brazil is the leading country in terms of World Championship titles (seven for the men and five for the women) and total medals (15 for men and 16 for women) in both genders. With many other countries playing catch-up, however, no Brazilian teams were able to reach the podium at the last edition of the World Championships in Hamburg in 2019, for the first time in history. Beach volleyball fans around the world are now bracing for even more exciting action, titanic clashes and sensational results when the World Championships get underway on June 10.
