20-year-old Ukrainians Yeva Serdiuk & Daria Romaniuk topped the podium at the Warsaw Futures and collected their first-ever medal on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Poland’s home favourites Aleksandra Wachowicz & Julia Radelczuk settled for silver, while Lithuania’s Daniele Kvedaraite & Jekaterina Kovalskaja picked up bronze.

The 2022 U19 world champions from Ukraine started the tournament in the Polish capital from the qualifiers and produced an amazing run of seven wins in a row, dropping only a set along the way, to triumph on top of the podium. In the semifinals, seventh-seeded Serdiuk & Romaniuk achieved a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) upset of third-seeded compatriots Inna Makhno & Sofiia Rylova, before mastering a 2-0 (21-12, 21-14) sweep of the gold medal match against top-seeded Aleksandra Wachowicz & Julia Radelczuk of Poland.

32-year-old Wachowicz and her 18-year-old partner also reached the final undefeated. In the semifinals, the home favourites achieved a 2-1 (19-21, 21-17, 15-10) comeback against fifth-seeded Daniele Kvedaraite & Jekaterina Kovalskaja of Lithuania to secure a spot on the podium at their Beach Pro Tour debut as a team. Wachowicz already had three Tour medals, one of each colour, along with Jagoda Sliwka as a partner.

Kvedaraite & Kovalskaja bounced back with a 2-1 (21-17, 17-21, 15-12) victory over Mahno & Rylova in the third place match to claim their second Beach Pro Tour medal, after the Rakvere Futures bronze in July.
