The fourth of five consecutive Beach Pro Tour Elite 16 events will take place in Hamburg, Germany from August 10 to 14, returning to the city which hosted a highly successful edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2019. Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany. Situated on the river Elbe in the north of the country, it has a population of over 1.7 million people, with over five million inhabitants in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. A major transport hub, Hamburg is an affluent city, a media and industrial centre as well as a popular tourist destination for both domestic and overseas visitors. In 2017, the famous concert venue, the Elbphilharmonie, was inaugurated, and has become a key touristic venue in the city.

Elite16 event format:

  • Teams per gender: 16
  • Qualification Tournament: Up to 16 teams
  • First phase: Four pools of four teams each; top two from each pool advance
  • Second phase: Eight-team single elimination bracket (quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze medal match, final)
  • Duration: 5 days

Prize purse: USD 300,000 (USD 150,000 per gender)
