The fifth Beach Pro Tour Elite16 event of the season will take place in Hamburg, Germany from August 10 to 14, returning to the city which hosted a highly successful edition of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in 2019. Be sure to join us on Volleyball TV for full coverage of the event.
Host City - Hamburg
Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany. Situated on the river Elbe in the north of the country, it has a population of over 1.7 million people, with over five million inhabitants in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. A major transport hub, Hamburg is an affluent city, a media and industrial centre as well as a popular tourist destination for both domestic and overseas visitors. In 2017, the famous concert venue, the Elbphilharmonie, was inaugurated, and has become a key touristic venue in the city.
Elite16 event format:
- Teams per gender: 16
- Qualification Tournament: Up to 16 teams
- First phase: Four pools of four teams each; top two from each pool advance
- Second phase: Eight-team single elimination bracket (quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze medal match, final)
- Duration: 5 days
Prize purse: USD 300,000 (USD 150,000 per gender)
