Brazil welcomes the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour to Itapema from April 14-17 after events in Mexico in March. The Beach Pro Tour stop in Itapema will be the second Challenge event of the season after the tournament in Tlaxcala from March 16-20.
The beaches of Itapema are a huge attraction for locals and tourists alike. Located in the state of Santa Catarina, the city of Itapema is south of major Brazilian hubs São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on the country's Atlantic coast.
Challenge event format:
Teams per gender: 24
Qualification Tournament: Up to 32 teams
First phase: Six pools of four teams each; modified pool play
