Kenyan outside hitter Veronica Adhiambo is on the roster for the 2025 World Championship

Kenya announced an extended provisional roster of 29 players to start preparations for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship taking place in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, 2025.

The team will start training on Monday at the Nyayo National Stadium indoor gymnasium in Nairobi.

Head coach Geoffrey Omondi’s list features seven of the 12 players, who represented Kenya at last year’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Kenya women’s national team full roster (subject to eligibility check to be conducted by the FIVB):

  • Setters: Emmaculate Nekesa, Fridah Boke, Marcleen Okoko, Vallarie Chepkoech, Vivian Vuguza
  • Opposites: Deborah Jesang, Loice Simiyu, Marlyn Tata, Mercy Iminza, Pamella Adhiambo
  • Оutside hitters: Daisy Leting, Juliana Namutira, Mariam Musa, Meldina Sande, Pauline Itoo, Sarah Namisi, Valentine Chemutai, Veronica Adhiambo
  • Middle blockers: Belinda Barasa, Elizabeth Sokoiyo, Gladys Ekaru, Lorine Kaei, Lydia Emokol, Pauline Chemutai

Kenya are currently number 22 in the women’s FIVB World Ranking. At the upcoming World Championship in Thailand, they will compete in Pool G in Phuket against the teams of Germany, Poland and Vietnam.
