Pool C closer features the matchup between current VNL winners and the home team on October 8

The 2023 Volleyball Nations League champions Poland will play their final match of the Volleyball Olympic Qualifying Tournament against China on October 8 in Xi’An.
Poland’s encounter with the home team is scheduled as the closing match in Pool C at 19:30 local time (11:30 UTC).
Poland made an outstanding finish at this year’s VNL, capping their campaign with their first-ever title in the tournament in front of their home fans in Gdansk. They have to rely on their momentum from this victory to be able to make it to their 11th Olympic Games.
They have reached the quarterfinals in the last five Olympic editions and their lone Olympic medal was a gold medal, which they won at Montreal 1976. Bartosz Kurek leads this new squad with Wilfredo Leo and VNL MVP Pawel Zatorski.
Twenty-three-year-old outside hitter Zhang Jingyin ranks among the top scorers at the 2023 VNL and will be China’s go-to hitter at the Olympic Qualifier.
Zhang and his team did not face Poland at the 2023 VNL, but met them the year before in Gdansk, where the home team prevailed in straight sets.
