The first day of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 was a fantastic affair, as several VIP guests gathered alongside thousands of fans in a full stadium to witness a series of thrilling matches.

FIVB senior leadership meet with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg ahead of the Italy vs Brazil match

The Sports Minister of Japan, Masahito Moriyama, and the Minister of Transport for France, Patrice Vergriete, were present for the very first match of the competition, a Japan vs Germany thriller.

FIVB’s General Director, Fabio Azevedo, Senior Advisor Hugh McCutcheon and Head of Technical & Development, Steve Tutton then met with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg ahead of the match between Italy and Brazil. Other notable guests at this match were Francesco Ricci Bitti, the President of the Association of Summer International Olympic Committees and Andrew Parsons, the President of the International Paralympic Committee.

Met by an enthusiastic crowd, the President of Poland, Andrzej Sebastian Duda, came to witness the match-up between Poland and Egypt, in which his country’s team won 3-0.
