Italian women and French men made history in the volleyball tournament of the Paris 2024 Olympics and their victories at the South Paris Arena 1 had the celebration they deserved as both national teams spent the days after their titles enjoying the special moment with their fans.

On Sunday, hours after their victory against the United States in the women’s final in Paris, the Italian squad made it to the Casa Italia, the country’s Olympic Committee thematic house in the French capital. There, they could relive key moments of the gold medal match and celebrate with their compatriots and other Italian athletes who also won medals.

The Italians returned home on Monday and were welcomed by hundreds of fans, who were eager to celebrate the country’s first-ever volleyball Olympic gold medal, at the Milan airport. Several media members were present as well to welcome the Olympic champions and capture their first reactions after returning home.

France, who claimed the men’s gold on Saturday, defending the Olympic title they had won three years ago in Tokyo, also had their first stop following the victory at their country’s thematic house in Paris, the Club France. Still excited about their victory, the players danced, celebrated and engaged with the hundreds of fans who were there to greet them.

As part of the celebrations, French players also went to the country’s most iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower, where they took beautiful photos with their gold medals.
