Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo also among the honoured guests on day nine

Cheers were heard loud and clear in the south of Paris today as fans spotted tennis legend Billie Jean King in the crowd as they watched Team USA take on France in the women’s competition. Their day got even better as they saw their side claim the win over France in a 3-0 thriller.

The excitement of the raucous Brazilian fans in the crowd for their victory over Poland notched up to another level when they spotted two-time Olympic skateboarding medallist Rayssa Leal among the spectators.

At the age of 16, Leal is already a sporting superstar in Brazil. She won women’s street skateboarding bronze earlier during Paris 2024, following on from her silver medal at Tokyo 2020.

She cheered the Brazilian team onto their third win in Pool B.

The Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo was also among the honoured guests on day nine, as he caught the first match of the day between Italy and Türkiye.

Also in attendance again at the South Paris Arena was Minister of Sports and Tourism for Poland, Sławomir Nitras, whose country are also through to the quarter-finals in second place in Pool B.
