As the sun rose over Paris on day six of the Olympic volleyball competition, the courts at South Paris Arena 1 were ready and raring once again. The arena saw international royalty, dignitaries, and sports enthusiasts, all coming together to witness the sporting spectacle unfold.

The day kicked off with a much-anticipated showdown between Türkiye’s women’s team and the Dominican Republic. Among the early arrivals was Osman Aşkın Bak, Türkiye’s Minister of Youth and Sports who saw his side channel the energy of the crowd to come from a set down to win the match.

Later in the day, following their visit to the Eiffel Tower Stadium yesterday, where they had taken in some beach volleyball, IOC Executive Board Member and Jordan Olympic Committee President HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Jordan Volleyball Federation President and Volleyball Foundation Board Member HRH Princess Ayah Al Feisal, HRH Princess Sara Bint Faisal, and HRH Princess Aisha Bint Faisal of Jordan brought their royal presence to the indoor volleyball arena. The Jordanian delegation caught up with the President of the FIVB, Dr Ary S. Graça F° during their visit.

The afternoon brought more excitement as Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee, made his return to the volleyball venue. He witnessed Brazil’s women’s team claim victory over Japan in a match that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Parsons was joined by IOC Member Bernard Rajzman.

To the delight of Italian fans around the South Paris Arena 1, the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, graced the stands and was seen cheering for Italy’s women’s team as they took on the Netherlands. In a match that showcased fantastic Olympic competition, Italy emerged victorious, much to the delight of their Prime Minister and fans.
