Day three at the South Paris Arena 1 was a royal affair (literally!), as the royal family of the Netherlands, including King Willem-Alexander King, Queen Máxima and two of the Princesses showed their support for the women’s national team in what was a nail-biting match against Türkiye.

Despite the Netherlands falling just short in the match, the family showed no sign of dampened spirits as they greeted the crowds before they headed off on a tour of the volleyball arena.

Joining them for the thrilling game was an esteemed Türkiye delegation cheering on their side, as well as His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), who was seen enjoying the sporting action.

Richard Bachmann, Chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), also came to enjoy his morning in the south of Paris.

And this was all before midday!

In the afternoon, more royalty (albeit in basketball) graced the arena for the match-up between the women’s national teams of the USA and China. NBA legend Stephen Curry’s appearance, fresh off his first win for Team USA basketball, was met with much delight.
