Undefeated
Italy’s glorious story leading to the women’s VNL 2025 triumph is told through Undefeated, a short 18-minute documentary capturing the intensity, the emotion and the dominance behind their title run, to be released on May 17.
Through exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes moments, the film dives into the Finals, revealing how Italy remained unbeaten on their way to a historic third crown and back-to-back VNL titles.
A story of consistency, confidence and championship mentality, Undefeated offers an emotional recount of Italy’s matches at the VNL Finals in Poland through that last Ekaterina Antropova swing against Brazil that got the party started, and not only takes you inside the mindset of a team that never faltered, but also reveals the thoughts of some of their opponents on the court.
“Every single match is difficult,” as middle blocker Sarah Fahr puts it in the documentary, yet Italy still managed to win all 15 in their VNL 2025 campaign. “Everybody wants to win against us, so we always have to show that we are there, we are working hard and we deserve it!”
Straight Sets Heroes
Poland’s journey to the VNL 2025 crown comes to life in Straight Sets Heroes, a 20-minute documentary focused on the defining moments of the Finals, which will be released on May 23.
Featuring exclusive interviews and key match insights, the film explores how Poland delivered a commanding performance to secure their second VNL title, finishing the job emphatically, without dropping a single set in their quarterfinal, their semifinal and the gold medal showdown.
This is the story of a team – composed, powerful and relentless when it counted – that rose to the occasion and triumphed as champions in style, with the viewers reliving their electrifying path from that five-set battle with France in front of the home crowd in Gdansk of the Preliminary Phase, through the sweep of the Finals in China, to Szymon Jakubiszak’s victory point against Italy for the title.
What does it take to be a VNL champion? “You have to play good volleyball,” is Polish outside hitter Tomasz Fornal’s simple answer. “You have to sacrifice, you have to push to the limit, you have to be the best…”
“A lot of dedication, for sure, a little bit of luck, and a tremendous amount of self-confidence,” middle blocker and captain Jakub Kochanowski sums up his answer at the end of the film. “Be the best version of yourself at the very most important moments.”
