Thailand women’s national team star Chatchu-on Moksri was recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in her continent according to lifestyle magazine Tatler Asia.

The 24-year-old outside hitter, who currently plays for Japanese club Victorina Himeji, was one of eight athletes from her country included in the list, which was released this week. The selection featured personalities from 20 different industries and seven countries.

Chatchu-on joined the Thai national team back in 2014, when she was only 14, and had in 2023 arguably her most successful season with the team, having led them to victories at the Asian Championship, where she was recognized as the Most Valuable Player, and the Southeast Asian Games.

This past season, the Thai star also appeared in major international events with her country’s national team, being the team’s top scorer in the Volleyball Nations League and also featuring in the Volleyball Olympic Qualifying Tournament, in Łódź, Poland.

Chatchu-on and Thailand will have big challenges in 2024 as they attempt to qualify for the Olympic Games for the first time in history. Thailand will also host the VNL Finals, with the Indoor Stadium Huamark, in the country’s capital Bangkok, welcoming matches between the best national teams in the world from June 20-23.

One of the faces of the Thai national team after the international retirement of the country’s Fab Five, Chatchu-on also has massive relevance on social media, having over 425,000 followers on her Instagram account.
