Brazil once again unlocked another achievement in their Volleyball Nations League journey, making it to the Finals for the fifth consecutive time.
VNL 2023
The Majestic Playmaking of Macris
Will the 34-year-old setter’s touch finally bring Brazil’s first VNL gold?

In an intense trail to this year’s finals, the South American powerhouse firmed their hold on fourth place in the 2023 VNL behind the majestic playmaking skills of Macris Carneiro.
Macris, for many years, has been dishing out success on the volleyball court, especially at the club level.
The gifted setter has a Midas touch that steered Minas Tenis Clube to seven titles wins and Fenerbahçe to two title triumphs in the last two seasons, together with a long list of individual achievements in her role as playmaker.
With a hefty list of successful initiatives, the 34-year-old may become the hero the team never knew they needed in their chase for their first VNL gold after missing the podium in 2018 and making three runners-up finishes in 2019, 2021 and 2022.
From a thriving newcomer to an international volleyball superstar, Macris’ success story is unbelievable.
The Santo Andre native did not even have a passport when she was called up for the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015, yet she managed to produce a silver medal for Brazil from that very first international trip.
Macris has come a long way and has established herself as one of the team’s leading figures. She has collected three gold medals, five silver medals and a bronze from various tournaments, including silver medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the 2022 World Championship.
Should Brazil win the VNL title in 2023, there is no better honor than to put her name alongside Brazil’s setting greats Fernanda Venturini, Helia Souza (Fofao) and Dani Lins.
