Italy: Showcasing the next generation of stars

With a mix of younger stars combined with some more experienced players at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League starting on 25 May in the Adriatic resort of Rimini, Italy are out to showcase what the future holds for this powerhouse of world volleyball.

Towering Gabriele Nelli, who also starred in the 2019 VNL will be a leading force for the men's side, but also look for the likes Loveth Omoruyi and Sylvia Nwakalor when the women's team take to the courts of Rimini.

Italy's men have finished a consistent eighth in both previous editions of the VNL. The women's ranked 7th in the inaugural edition of 2018 and then qualified for the Final Six in 2019 (though didn't advance to the medals round).
