Dominican Republic claim first victory

The Dominican Republic claimed their first victory in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League on Thursday against Canada, after losing to two-time tournament winners USA on Tuesday and to South American giants Brazil on Wednesday.

Here is what the players said:

Marte Niverka (DOM): We are very happy about this victory today. We really needed to break our streak of lost games. We have played a lot against Canada, but it's a team that is improving a lot. They played really well, so I'm really happy that we managed to win and play good volleyball.

Alexa Grey (CAN): Our goal is just to become better. We are a young team, we are trying to get used to each other and we are playing here for the first time as a squad. So we hope to improve.
