Larson and teammates celebrate against the Dominican Republic as USA embark on defence of VNL title.

USA embarked on their quest to defend their FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League title with a very solid win over the Dominican Republic on the opening day of the 2021 edition.

Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone:

Prisilla Rivera (Dominican Republic): "I am really happy to be here, because after so many months without games due the pandemic we finally can play. It was challenging to face the USA. We played against a very good team, but we keep going and we hope that the next match will be better for us."

Jordan Larson (USA): "Definitely we are heading for another crown - it's always our goal. We are trying to maximize our potential. It's been a long time since we were able to compete under our flag and represent the USA, so we are very excited to be together again, just coming together for one goal. In this game there were times when we were a bit slow, but I think we got better as the match wore on."
