Megan Courtney (USA)

Megan Courtney put up an outstanding defensive effort to help deliver the United States’ first title defence in the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League.

The American was named Best Libero with an average of 3.47 digs per set and a reception percentage of 25.61, which were the best performances for that role in the final round in 2019. She had a total of 59 digs out of 90 attempts and had 24 excellent passes. She also assisted in setting with 53 total set attempts – the most attempts among the liberos.

She signed with her first professional team Leonas de Ponce in 2016, the same year she made her national team debut. She next moved to Poland to play for Impel Wroclaw, then to Turkey to reinforce the defence of Canakkale Belediyespor. Her next country stop was in Italy, where she played for three clubs. She first played for a season at Volley Bergamo in 2018, then represented Igor Gorgonzola Novara at the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship. Her latest club stint was with Pallavolo Scandicci.
