Canada will enter the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League with an experienced squad as veteran head coach Glenn Hoag is set to lead a 17-man roster in Rimini, Italy.

The team features as many as eight members from the roster that competed at the Rio 2016 Olympics, including setters TJ Sanders and Jay Blankenau, outside hitters Gordon Perrin, Nicholas Hoag and Steve Marshall, middle blockers Daniel Van Doorn and Graham Vigrass and libero Blair Bann.
Other popular names selected by Hoag include 22-year-old star opposite Sharone Vernon-Evans, 25-year-old middle blocker Arthur Szwarc and 26-year-old outside hitter Stephen Maar.

The only player making his debut with the senior team will be 22-year-old libero Jordan Pereira. The defender graduated from the University of McMaster in 2019 and joined the team for their training sessions ahead of the VNL.
Canada finished seventh in the 2018 VNL and ninth the following season and will play their first match in this year’s edition of the tournament on May 28 against the United States.
