Bulgaria: Looking to rise out of the VNL pack

Though Bulgaria have had impressive successes historically in such competitions as the Olympic Games and World and European Championships, they're still trying to find their deserved place in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, as the competition returns this month at the Italian Adriatic resort of Rimini.

Bulgaria ranked 11th at the inaugural edition of the VNL in 2018 and dropped one place to 12th a year later.

Keep an eye out for such stars as Tsvetan Sokolov who played this season in Russia with Dinamo Moscow, as well as the Bratoev twins, Georgi and Valentin.
