Belgium: The small nation that punches above its weight

For a country of its size, Belgium have achieved wonders in international volleyball and their appearance in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, starting next month at Italy's Adriatic resort of Rimini, is bound to produce some exceptional results once again.

Belgium were 13th in the inaugural season of the VNL in 2018, but finished just shy of the Final Six in the second edition in 2019 ending up in 7th place.

A number of Belgium players have been starring abroad this season - most notably Lise van Hecke, Kaja Grobelna and Britt Herbots who were amongst the top 10 scorers in the Italian League.
