Bartosz Bednorz

Bartosz Bednorz’s consistent double-digit scoring performance throughout the final round of the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Nations League earned him Dream Team honours and a bronze medal.

Bednorz appeared in three weeks of preliminary round action and tallied 117 spikes, 16 blocks and nine aces. In the final round, he was a completely changed man and determined to win. He delivered big numbers from the attack line and led Poland in their first two victories against Brazil (3-2) and Iran (3-1), scoring 18 and 24 points respectively. Even if his team lost to eventual winners Russia in the semifinals, he was still his team’s top scorer with 15 points. And he scored 22 markers to help his team bounce back with a straight-set win to secure their first ever VNL medal in the match for third place.

Bednorz began his professional career with AZS Czestochowa in 2013, then played for AZS Olsztyn in the next two seasons. He transferred to Skra Belchatow where he won a Polish Championship title, a Polish Cup and Polish Super Cup between 2016 to 2018. He moved to Italy in 2018 and won a Super Cup with Modena Volley. After two seasons in Italy, he transferred to Russian powerhouse club Zenit Kazan.
