From the very first serve by Belgium's Celine Van Gestel on the morning of 25 May to get the women's competition started till the very last spike by Brazil's Wallace de Souza to bring the men's final to an end on the evening of June 27, the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League kept fans on edge as USA's women and Brazil's men were crowned champions.

Month-long tournament produces extraordinary figures as it brings world volleyball back

A total of 248 matches (124 per gender) involving 922 sets (462 for the men; 460 for the women) produced 459 hours and 3 minutes of pure action to bring world volleyball back after the break due to the pandemic.
The 32 participating teams (16 per gender) saw 572 players contest a total of 40,698 rallies (20,611 by the men; 20,087 by the women).
Because of Covid-19 restrictions the competition was held without spectators - but these 40,698 rallies were viewed live by fans around the world over a total broadcast hours of 744. The aggregated digital watch time was 4.8 million hours.
Aggregated Engagements across the competition were 73,533,032 with a total Digital Reach of 512,026,143.
The competition was held within a secure 'bubble' to ensure the health and safety of all participants and minimise exposure to the coronavirus.
A total of 1347 people, including players, referees, officials and staff were inside the 'bubble' and underwent 10,170 Covid-19 tests during the month-long competition, with mandatory checks for everyone every four days.
